Matilda Martinčič

“I was born with a love for painting. When I was young I had no opportunity to show my skills.”

When Matilda’s grandson was born, her memories of her own childhood came alive. It was not a happy childhood, as she did not live with her parents, brothers and sisters.

“The memories of my lost childhood came flooding back. By drawing children’s tales I managed to overcome my menopausal depression. I always love to take up my brushes and my children’s fantasies start right away.”

Matilda Martinčič is a native of the environs of Ptuj. She has lived in Australia for over forty years and resides in Geelong.
