Ema acquired many skills at home, as her father was a tailor and her mother and the children did a lot of needlework for the home.
“I enjoyed needlework even as a child. At home, we used to knit pullovers, gloves, shawls and caps. My older sisters were very good at embroidery and my mom made bobbin-lace. The house was always full of needlework. When I came to Australia, I continued the tradition and I still love to make things, because it gives me joy and satisfaction.”
Ema Bole Kosmina, a native of Hrenovice near Postojna, has lived in Australia for over forty years and resides in Geelong.
